黒美 BIKOKU
黒美 BIKOKU means Black Couture Style & Fashion
Our distillery is one of only three in Japan that draws its water directly from the underground aquifer fed by snowmelt from Mt Fuji. This pristine and naturally-filtered water has a lower PH balance which makes for a supremely smooth whisky. Our Master Blender travels the country to hand select only the highest grade barley for our mash blend. It is distilled in-house where he carefully draws out the individuality and character of the blend before it is aged for a minimum of 4 years in American-made bourbon barrels.
Narasaki City, located in the northern part of the Kofu Basin in Yamanashi Prefecture, is surrounded by beautiful forests and clear streams. This area overlooks Mt. Fuji, a beautiful location surrounded by the foothills of Mt. Yatsugatake, with Mt. Phoenix, one of the 100 most famous mountains in Japan, flowing to the west and Mt. Teshigawa river of the Fuji River system flowing to the south. This area is ideal for whisky production due to its rich natural environment.
